Prof. Dr. Ahmet Türkcapar

Introduction

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turkcapar is an internationally renowned General Surgeon specialized in Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery with more than 30 years of experience in the field. He is a pioneer in leading the state of the art developments in Laparoscopic Surgery in addition to treating more than 8,000 patients in his career, all of them with no complications.

Education & Training

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turkcapar graduated from Ankara University and progressed to Associate Professor and then Professor titles (2014) through his research publications, teaching at university, and surgical practical contributions. He became a member of ASMBC (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery) thanks to his contributions in reflux and obesity surgery in addition to his pioneering research. He has more than 50 international publications on PubMed and serves as a Reviewer for international journals. Since 2016, he has been a certified IFSO (International Federation of Obesity and Bariatric Surgery) center of excellence and a surgical excellence certificate in addition to being certified as an excellent surgeon.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Turkcapar focuses on reflux and obesity surgeries. In the bariatric center (Turkcapar Bariatrics) that he founded, he has a complete crew of dietician and follow-up nurse to have a life-time of support for recovery and close follow-up. Additionally, the T-Sleeve technique that he pioneered for obesity patients with reflux has made a huge mark in the medical field and his numerous international publications have gathered international interest. He closely follows all new developments in the field and contributes to them.
